There was the time when Backpackers went travelling all they had was flip flops, a tatty rucksack and a map. The flip flops and tatty rucksack hasn’t changed that much in all honesty, but now a backpacker could have a laptop or tablet computer, GPS navigation device, an MP3 player and a fairly decent camera.
With True Traveller Insurance, you can tailor make your own cover. Our standard Baggage cover will insure your valuables to a the limit shown depending on which policy you choose, so if you just have a basic MP3 player and a standard Digital Camera, that may well be enough for you.
However, if you are taking your new tablet computer with you, or your mobile phone, you can add on up to three specified items which can be insured for up to £450 each (£750 on the Traveller Plus policy). You can add on:
Cameras (Digital, SLR or DSLR)
Mobile Phones
E Readers
GPS Equipment
MP3 Players
Laptops
Optical Equipment
Tablet Computers
Video Cameras
When taken out in conjunction with your travel insurance, you get cover for loss, theft or damage to your equipment and it’s a good idea to check out our Claims page on what to do if you do lose your stuff or need to get it repaired. We would also recommend you take out the Excess Waiver.
